This Louisville, Colorado project tells the story of a busy family, two physicians with young children, who wanted their house to finally feel like their home and needed all new furnishing and decoration to achieve that. After purchasing and renovating their dream property, they searched for an interior designer who could listen deeply, understand their taste, and balance high design with livability.
Studio Strongwater provided full-service home furnishing and Interior design for all common living spaces. Every piece, from rugs and lighting to furnishing, artwork, and accessories, was curated to blend warmth and modernity, creating a family-friendly home design that feels both elegant and easy to live in.
A major goal was simplifying choices for a busy family. With countless furnishings, fabrics, and finishes available, Studio Strongwater distilled the options into a few thoughtful selections that made decisions feel clear and easy instead of overwhelming.
The result is a modern family home that combines sophistication, functionality, and a touch of playfulness—a reflection of the family’s everyday rhythm and their desire for spaces filled with personality and calm.
The Vision
At the heart of this project was the desire for a home that balances form and function. This family wanted spaces that expressed their personalities: colorful yet calm, practical yet refined. They needed someone who could connect the dots between their renovation and their longing for warmth and texture.
Studio Strongwater’s strategy was to create a cohesive flow that celebrated light and movement through the home. We developed a palette of sun-washed hues, organic textures, and playful accents, which was served the design brief: elements of nature + colorful storytelling.” The design would layer character and comfort in equal measure. By editing dozens of possible directions into a refined set of choices, it would also remain focused and intuitive.

The Process
The Concept
Studio Strongwater began with deep listening, understanding not only how the family lived but also what made them feel most at ease. We translated those insights into a moodboard concept that blended contemporary shapes with the project’s palette of sun-washed hues, organic textures, and playful accents.
The Design
We developed a palette of sun-washed hues, organic textures, and playful accents, to serve the design brief: “elements of nature + colorful storytelling.” To that end, custom rugs, each chosen for both durability and artistry, anchored every room, provided the furnishing canvas, and ultimately inspired the project’s name, Magic Carpet Ride.
The Build
Throughout the process, Beth guided the couple through curated decisions, saving time and sparing decision fatigue. Each element, furniture, lighting, art, and accessories, was selected to harmonize with the existing architecture. The result? Luxury home furnishings that feel effortless and personal.
Signature Moments
Playful, functional storage became a defining thread: a sculptural book tower, a whimsical tree-shaped coat rack, and tall Indonesian baskets turned everyday clutter into design moments in the family room and entry. These choices show how family-friendly living can coexist with style, humor, and grace.
Simplifying choices was especially critical when sourcing the custom rugs. Partnering with local vendor, Artisan Rug Gallery, the winners that now grace the floors tell a story of craftsmanship, heritage, and celebrate the colors of the natural world.
